Introduction.
Science and technology is considered vital for a nation's overall economic development. Science and technology when used effecttively is able to improve the productivity and meet the needed is society. The development of any nation today depends on its technically and scientific advancement. Across the world, Science is increasingly being reviewed as a subject of life -long utility to all students. A science literary populace is perceived as being better equipped to contribute sustainable economic development and to the social welfare. Ramlingam(2003) defined science as the systematic study of things around us. Urevbu (1990) defined science as an enterprise participatedin by human beings concerned with the study and parsimonious explanation of material and forces of nature. He opioned that science employs a variety of techniques, is motivated by desire to know, assume an orderliness in nature, is governed by understandable and acceptable ethical principals and terminates in credible concepts in the form of descriptive, comparative and quantitative concepts.
Science as a body of knowledge has major branches like mathematics, physcis, chemistry, biology, agricultural science, astronomy e.t.c.The study of any field or branch of science follows a systematic pattern called scientific methods.In using scientific methods,"Scientist are very alert and inquisitive. They use their senses to observe what is happening around them. They detect from their observations the problem which they try to solve by firstly putting forward a hypothesis and then carryout appropriate to test it .
